Chapter 16 Breakdown

How can you tell if the love your partner has for you is real? How can your partner know that the love you show them is authentic? Falling in love is a beautiful emotion to feel, but pretending to fall in love can be one of the most deceptive experiences that the human heart can endure. Back then, I was still searching for the definition of love in a secular way, and my words were often said in vain. Honestly, I didn’t know what true love was when I was 21 years old. I merely thought I did. A majority of individuals who are double that age still do not know what true love is.

In retrospect, I believe all those feelings I felt could not have been the bona fide thing. I had an artificial love. It was tainted and impure. We overdosed on sin, playing with the devil. We abused the purity of love by practicing the world’s definition of it better known as fornication.

Retain this: while you paint the picture of a serious relationship, before you vocally project how much you love your significant other, remind yourself that once you say it, there’s no rewinding your words. Once it’s put on the table, it needs to be a sure thing. If I would’ve simply admitted that I was double-minded towards loving Lydea, then I could’ve avoided so much disorder. Instead, I struggled to live up to the words I expressed.
